Bringing dangerous thoughts to life

In recent months, we have watched as current events have brought many dangerous thoughts to life. Here are a few of those events:

The Governor of New Mexico attempts to normalize suspension of Constitutional rights via ‘emergency powers’. Via an issued health order.

• On September 8th, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued an emergency order suspending citizens right to carry fire arms within parts of her constituency.

• The order was then refused by both the New Mexico judiciary and law enforcement officials.

  • In our view - this was a trial balloon designed to test what new methods/excuses could be used to circumvent civil rights. We saw civil rights curtailment using similar excuses based upon fear uncertainty and doubt during the 2020 Covid emergency. In related items, we look to another current event.

Last year Governor Kathy Hochul of New York attempted to add a new health regulation that would allow state officials to place anyone in “Quarantine”, either in their own home or in a facility of their (state officials) designation. The regulation granted very broad powers with very little oversight.

1. The regulation was declared unconstutional, but the Governor’s office appealed the ruling. This week that ruling was upheld by an appellate court.

• This was yet another attempt to enhance governmental powers to circumvent civil rights. However, this pales in comparison to the most insidious recent event.

The announcement of the latest round of Covid 19 vaccines and boosters, once again positioned as ‘safe and effective’ could be the most dangerous recent event.
